In "Motel Girls" Schmidt turns his lens on women to peel back the layers of artifice, exposing women's intimate personal emotions in the privacy and solitude of motel rooms.
Schmidt has a long term history of studying female emotion and interpersonal relationships in his work as a film maker. He explored the female thought in projects such as "Internet Love" and "Broken Hearts". Originally a student of philosophy and psychology, human emotions and relationships have always been at the core of Schmidt's work.
